Gainesville, Cumming, Dahlonega residents named to state boards

A Gainesville woman, a Dahlonega woman and a man from Cumming have been named to state boards by Gov. Nathan Deal:

*Stefanie Palma, Georgia Board of Massage Therapy (reappointment)

Palma, who is from Dahlonega, is a professor emeritus at the University of North Georgia and provides neurologic physical therapy in Dahlonega. 

*Melissa Tymchuk, Georgia Commission on Women

Tymchuk, who lives in Gainesville, is the executive director of strategic marketing for Northeast Georgia Health System. 

*John Kieffer, Lake Lanier Island Development Authority (reappointment)

Kieffer is a small business owner with experience in construction and land development, according to a press release from the governor's office.  He lives in Cumming.

One other northeast Georgian, Reid Lawson of Lavonia, is getting a new term on the state Board of Physical Therapy.  Lawson is Rehabilitation Manager at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
