White County basketball will host its Christmas Classic on Saturday -- but the Warriors hope to do far more than provide a slate of contests.
White County's boys and girls varsity teams will face Gatlinburg-Pittman, Tenn., and the Warriors hope to send the visitors home with generous support for the relief efforts taking place in the wildfire-ravaged section of Tennessee.
The school is accepting donations and will also place an offering bowl at the concessions stand during all five games for those that wish to donate.
Saturday's festivites begin at 10 a.m. with a Heroe's Game through White County's Special Olympics program.
The basketball continues at noon with the Lady Warriors taking on Gatlinburg-Pittman, followed by the White County boys against Gatlinburg-Pittman at 1:30 p.m. The final two contests feature the North Hall girls against West Forsyth at 3 p.m. and the North Hall boys against West Forsyth at 4:30 p.m.
