Hall County Sheriff's Office officials Friday morning identified the man who allegedly stole U.S. flags from two homes in south Hall County last month.

Bobby Ray Pendley, 19, of Gainesville surrendered at the Hall County Jail, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Wilbanks.

"Mr. Pendley was booked on two counts of theft by taking (misdemeanor) and is currently free on bond," Wilbanks wrote in a news release.

The charges stem from the Thanksgiving day theft of the flags on Summer Creek Drive off of Lee Land Road.

"Video surveillance from one of those homes was instrumental in identifying Mr. Pendley, who came forward and spoke to Investigators about the thefts and returned the stolen flags," Wilbanks stated.
