LISTEN: UNG students excavate and restore a Lula grist mill to get a glimpse at what it was like, almost two centuries ago

Archaeology students at the UNG Dahlonega campus have excavated Healan's Mill, the last standing grist mill in Hall County, as part of an effort to preserve history and give students a first hand look at the archaeological field. Along with students studying history and anthropology, the project gives UNG students a chance to see the effects of restoration and the historical value in their own backyards.
