A 26-year-old Gillsville man is charged with first degree arson for intentionally setting a residential fire that sent one victim to the hospital Nov. 22, officials said Monday.
Jose Alfredo Macias is also charged with hindering firefighters who were called to battle the blaze, according to Cpt. Zach Brackett, Hall County Fire Services spokesman.
Macias was arrested Friday and booked into the Hall County jail, where he remained Monday morning, facing a $17,100 bond, according to jail records.
Macias is also charged with obstruction of an officer and violation of probation in the case.
