Winder police investigate death of mother after child calls 911

The Winder Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a child called 911 Monday to report that her mother was unresponsive.

A press statement from investigators said the 7-year-old girl called Barrow County dispatch on Monday around 9 a.m. to report that he mother was not waking up. When police arrived at the residence on East Fifth Avenue, they found Christa Dodd Crocker, 39, unresponsive in a bathroom. Crocker was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barrow County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine Crocker's exact cause of death.
