The White County Board of Commissioners wasted no time carrying out the wishes of voters and revised the county’s alcohol ordinance Monday.
Voters in the county approved the provisions in the November 8 general election. They relate to the sale of distilled spirits by the drink, Sunday retail package sales of beer and wine and Sunday sales by the drink for beer, wine and distilled spirits.
Retailers must adhere to the current provision that alcohol sales not exceed 40 percent of total sales.
In approving the revisions, the commission adopted a $2,500 fee for distilled spirits licenses.
The effective date for the changes is January first.
