The Piedmont College women's soccer team now knows its opponent for the 2016 NCAA National Tournament first round, and it's a familiar one, as the Lady Lions will travel to Danville, Ky., to face Regional host Centre College on Saturday.

These two already matched up earlier this season with Piedmont taking on the Colonels in its second game of the year at the Centre College Invitational. The Colonels earned a 1-0 win over PC that day in September as part of a six-game winning streak to start the year.

Centre will enter the Tournament with an 18-1-2 record having gone an undefeated 7-0 in Southern Athletic Association play this season while also laying claim to the SAA Tournament crown for a fifth straight time.

Piedmont took its second straight USA South Championship Tournament title this past weekend claiming the crown for the third time in four years after joining the league five seasons ago. PC is 15-6-1 having won at least 13 games in each of the last nine seasons.

The Lady Lions head to the National Tournament after earning the USA South's automatic berth with their 2-1 win over Salem College (18-2-1) in the conference final on Saturday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Also joining the Lady Lions for the opening round in Danville is Hardin-Simmons (19-1) and Washington & Lee (15-3-1) with the winner of that match-up awaiting the Centre/Piedmont winner in the second round.

Match times for all contests will be announced later tonight or tomorrow morning with an updated schedule available on PiedmontLions.com as it becomes available.
