Nearly 35,000 people took advantage of early voting in Hall County, according to elections officials.
Early voting, which began in the state Oct. 17, ended Friday.
Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee reports that 3,167 ballots were cast Friday alone and that, in all, there were 34,921 early voters for next Tuesday's General Election. That number, she said, includes both weekday voting and the one day of Saturday voting.
Sosebee says that at times the wait was one hour Friday at the elections office on Browns Bridge Road, the only place in the county where early voting was taking place. The last ballot was cast at 6:25 p.m., Sosebee said.
"It has been great," she added in an email.
Earlier in the day, Secretary of State Brian Kemp said Georgia set a record for early voting.
