The fall Rivers Alive cleanup in Braselton is scheduled for this Saturday, October 29 and organizers say they have added a new dimension to the event this year - a sprucing up of the town's RiverWalk trail.

“All landscape needs attention,” said Yvette Wise, Braselton’s environmental specialist and coordinator of the Rivers Alive project.  “So we encourage those who are able to bring snips to help trim some branches overhanging the RiverWalk trail.”

Volunteers will meet at a new location, the University of Georgia Arboretum at 1898 New Liberty Church Road, and signs will be posted to facilitate the start of the project.

“As always, we encourage folks to dress to get dirty,” Wise said, “but knowing it’s all about a cleaner environment for the community, it’s well worth the effort for families.”

The Rivers Alive project will begin at 9 a.m. and end with lunch and beverages for all workers. For additional information, call 706-654-3915, extension 1012 or e-mail [email protected].
