Treat men's soccer runs past Montreat, 4-1

MONTREAT, N.C. — The Truett McConnell men's soccer team raced out to a four-goal lead and cruised to a 4-1 win over Montreat Wednesday afternoon. The Bears are now 6-8 overall and 3-5 in AAC play.

Joao Costa got the scoring started in the 11th minute, and six minutes later, Tyrik Francis doubled the lead to 2-0. Less than one minute later, Ignacio Perez scored to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Darian Bowen scored the final TMU goal in the 29th minute. Montreat added its goal in the 41st minute before both teams settled in in the second half.

TMU will finish out AAC play with a 4 p.m. match against Milligan on Tuesday, October 25, in Cleveland.
