While long lines and extensive wait times have been a problem for early voters in neighboring Gwinnett County, that has not been the case in Hall County.
Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee said in an email Tuesday morning that a line of voters was waiting at 7:30 a.m. Monday to cast ballots at the Hall County Government Center. They had to wait 30 minutes for the office to open, but that half hour wait time was about the longest of the day.
Some voters in Gwinnett County told CBS46 they waited as long as four hours to cast a ballot on Monday.
Sosebee said 1,566 early ballots were cast Monday on the first day of early voting. She said based on projections, she believes about half that number will vote Tuesday.
Early voting runs through November 4. There is one Saturday voting day during the advance voting period; it is on October 29.
