University of North Georgia seniors Eddie Hurst and Rachel VanHorn have been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Players of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Both Hurst and VanHorn collected hat-tricks in UNG's sweep of USC Aiken on the pitch Saturday.

Eddie Hurst collected the first ever hat-trick in UNG men's soccer history in Saturday's 6-3 comeback win against USC Aiken. The senior also had one assist in the game for a total of seven points, also a new UNG single-game record.

Rachel VanHorn, the reigning PBC and NSCAA National Player of the Week, continued her hot play with four goals on the week that included the first score of the match against Wingate, a pivotal 2-1 non-conference win for the Nighthawks, and three goals in North Georgia's 10-0 victory over USC Aiken, as the forward collected her first career hat-trick.

The UNG men and women head to Americus on Wednesday to take on Georgia Southwestern. Kickoff for the women's game is set for 5 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m.

SCHEDULING NOTE: It was announced Monday that the UNG men's match at UNC Pembroke on Saturday has been moved up to 10:30 a.m., to better accommodate staffing requirements. The women's match is still set for a 1 p.m., kickoff.
