LaGRANGE — Finding themselves in another tight battle on the road, the Piedmont College women's soccer team used a second half goal from veteran Savannah Castles to get past LaGrange College 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Castles' score came in the 59th minute when Piedmont created a good chance that saw a hard shot saved off the crossbar.
However, it fell in the path of an oncoming Castles who needed no first touch to power a shot past LaGrange keeper DeAundra Green.
The goal gave Piedmont a 1-0 lead that was more than enough for the Lady Lions to get their 9th win in conference and 10th win overall setting a line now of nine straight seasons with double-digit wins for the women's soccer program.
