Winder Police say a mentally challenged woman, missing since Saturday, was found safe in Winder Tuesday morning.

Police Lt. Chris Cooper said Amanda Joleen Lovell, 39, was found around eight o-clock.  She was being checked out at a local hospital.

"We will send further updates as they become known to us," Cooper wrote in an email Tuesday morning.

Lovell had been missing since Saturday night, when she was spotted near the intersection of Highway 81 and Georgia 8, about 1.5 miles from her home

Over the weekend, police said Lovell suffers from schizophrenia and has microcephaly.  Officers said Lovell had wandered from her home before, but normally returned quickly.
