DANIELSVILLE — Jefferson's punishing run game proved too much for Madison County, as the Dragons put up three rushing touchdowns to hand the Red Raiders their first loss of the season, 28-7 on Friday in Danielsville.
Jefferson went through the air to get its first score, as Colby Clark hooked up with Chaz Evans for a 51-yard touchdown pass.
Clark went on to add an 11-yard touchdown run, while Colby Wood (3 yards) and Zack Boobas (1 yard) chipped in with rushing scores.
Boobas finished with 108 yards rushing and 11 tackles on defense. Wood added 104 yards in 16 carries.
Jefferson (5-1, 1-0 Region 8-AAAA) will take a bye next week and face North Oconee on Oct. 14.
