For the second straight year, Gainesville set a record in 2015 for building permits for single-family homes.

The city's planning department reports that 408 such permits were approved.  That compares to 267 in 2014.  In addition, seven permits were issued in 2015 for multi-family developments, compared to four in 2014.  Planning Director Rusty Ligon said at mid-year, the city was on track to set another record.  (Click here http://accesswdun.com/article/2015/7/324074/gainesville-on-track-for-another-record-setting-year-for-new-home-starts to read earlier story.)

Hall County, meanwhile, reports issuing 352 permits for single-family dwellings last year.   The county issued 341 in 2014.
