Authorities across north Georgia battled wind and rain ahead of winter precipitation.

Several trees toppled and power lines went down in Friday morning's high winds.

In the city of Gainesville, for example, live power lines blocked Ahaluna Drive just off Dawsonville Highway for a time.

Hall County Emergency Management Director David Kimbrell said the county had received reports of about 5-6 downed trees, although none had caused major problems.

Dispatchers for Dawson and Jackson counties also reported downed trees during the Friday morning rush hour.
