CLEVELAND - Tractor Supply Co., a large retail chain of stores that offers products for home improvement, agriculture, lawn and garden maintenance, and livestock, equine and pet care, has announced plans to locate a store in Cleveland this spring.
As a growth-minded company, Tractor Supply Co. is always looking for potential new store locations that are a good fit as far as the target market is concerned, said TSC spokesman Rob Hoskins in an email.
The company will be locating in the long-vacant Piggly Wiggly building in Village Plaza on South Main Street. The location will have approximately 27,400 square feet and employ 12 to 17 full- and part-time team members, Hoskins said.
Hoskins said a soft opening tentatively is set for April 16, with a grand opening slated for April 23.
Concerning the new Cleveland location, Hoskins said the area was attractive due to the part-time and hobby farmers, and horse owners in the area. He added Tractor Supply Co. is excited about being a new member of the Cleveland business community.
Founded as a mail order tractor parts business in 1938, TSC is headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn. The company operates 1,465 stores in 49 states, and an online store.
In addition to the planned Tractor Supply Co. store, a new Taco Bell is being built at the intersection of U.S. 129 and Appalachian Parkway in Cleveland.
Hibbett Sports, Sally Beauty, and Great Clips recently opened in a new shopping center next to Walmart. Factory Connection also has announced plans to locate in that center.
