FLOWERY BRANCH — The Class AAAAA No. 2 Flowery Branch girls basketball team opened with a 27-6 first quarter and then cruised to a 66-28 win over Forsyth Central Saturday at home.
The Lady Falcons (15-0) clamped down on Forsyth Central the entire game holding the Lady Bulldogs to just 11 second half points. Forsyth Central outscored Flowery Branch 11-8 in the second quarter but that would be as close as the Lady Bulldogs could get.
Flowery Branch used a 16-5 third quarter to run out to a 51-22 lead and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 15-6 in the fourth quarter.
Julianne Sutton paced Flowery Branch with 15 points. Lexie Sengkhammee added nine points and Heather Moore and Taniyah Worth each had eight points for the Lady Falcons.
Flowery Branch will jump back into Region 8-AAAAA action traveling to Appalachee on Tuesday.
