ATHENS — Lanier's offense put up just 230 yards -- and it was more than enough on Friday, as the Longhorns blanked Cedar Shoals 35-0 in Athens.
Lanier (4-0, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA) allowed just 106 yards to the Jaguars, while pitching their second straight shutout.
The Longhorns have yielded just 27 points combined in four games, and continued their dominant play on Friday, allowing just 2.2 yards per play and also scoring on defense, Michael Allen picking off a pass and returning it for a score.
Meanwhile, Marko Baity scored two rushing touchdowns for the Lanier offense. Quarterback Tahj Tolbert also had a rushing score, as did Marcella Baity.
Lanier held a 28-0 lead at halftime.
The Longhorns will host Loganville in a key Region 8-AAAAA showdown next week.
