SAVANNAH, Ga. - Things returned to normal Friday morning at a Savannah college after someone fired a gun in a student apartment building overnight.
Armstrong State University announced on its website that someone entered a residential building about 3 a.m. Friday and fired a single gunshot. No one was hurt.
School officials said there was no continuing threat, and classes will be held as normal. School offices also were open.
A statement from Armstrong State President Linda Bleicken said several people were being interviewed by police, but there was no word of arrests.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident, which does not pose a larger threat to our campus community. It was not the act of a random shooter," Bleicken said.
Armstrong State has about 7,100 students on a campus south of downtown Savannah.
