GAINESVILLE - Gasoline prices have dropped below two dollars a gallon at some outlets in Hall County.

While some places have been selling it at similar prices with the use of their store cards, it is now at that level where special cards or promotions are not required.

For instance, on Sunday morning the Walmart Neighborhood Market and RaceTrac, located at Browns Bridge Road and McEver Road, were each selling regular, unleaded for $1.99.

Triple-A and others who closely monitor gasoline prices in the state have been forecasting the return of two dollars-a-gallon prices for several weeks.

Just a week ago, for instance, AAA noted that prices for the Labor Day weekend  were the lowest in ten years. (See earlier story by clicking here http://accesswdun.com/article/2015/8/332758/aaa-lowest-labor-day-gas-prices-in-a-decade )
