Many north Georgians are expected to pause Friday morning to observe the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

At 9:45, a ceremony will be held at the Gainesville Public Safety Complex on Queen City Parkway.

A 9:00 ceremony is planned at Dawson County Fire Station #1 at 393 Memory Lane.

Meanwhile, the Johnson High School band will perform at 12:45 at Liberty Plaza across from the State Capitol in Atlanta following a prayer vigil at noon.
The band's performance will include a playing of the National Anthem and  a performance of the “United: The Sounds of America” show it is playing at football games this year.
