KENNESAW —Buford took an 8-2 win over Heard County on Saturday at in a battle between 2014 state champions (Buford in Class AAAA, Heard County in Class AA).
The Lady Wolves (12-2, 2-0 in Region 8-AAAA) got two hits and three RBI from senior Kennedy Kotula sophomore catcher Kelsey Bennett hit her first-ever varsity home run and driving in two runs. Senior pitcher Peyton Wolfe remains undefeated at 7-0 in the circle after tossing her second complete game, allowing five hits and just one earned run.
Junior Samantha Thomas had two hits, one RBI, and scored two runs. Senior Baylee Sexton had two hits and one RBI for Buford.
The Lady Wolves will resume Region 8-AAAA action on Tuesday traveling to Stephens County.
