HOSCHTON — Mill Creek continued its hot start to the 2015 season on Friday, pulling away from West Forsyth for a 51-13 win on Friday in Hoschton.
Daniel Leconte scored two second half touchdowns to help the Hawks (2-0) extend a 20-13 advantage to a comfortable 34-13 lead.
Mill Creek took an early lead, as quarterback Camerion Turley hooked up with receiver Braxton Richburg on an 82-yard bomb for a 7-0 advantage in the first quarter. Brenton King then added the first of his three field goals on the night (34, 25 and 27 yards) to make it 10-0 before Chase Turner picked off a pass and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown and a 17-0 lead.
West Forsyth fought back into the contest with two second quarter touchdowns -- though Edmund Graham blocked a point-after attempt on the first to give him his third kick block of the season, a school record for blocks in a season (just two games into the campaign).
Joe Thomas added two fourth quarter scoring runs for Mill Creek.
The Hawks will travel to battle rival Dacula next Friday.
