LULA — A former Hall County commissioner made an appearance at Monday night's Lula City Council meeting, asking for council members' support as he runs for the chairmanship of the Hall County Commission.
Steve Gailey told the council he plans to run on the Republican ticket in the March 2016 primary. Current Commission Chairman Dick Mecum also is a Republican.
Gailey served for eight years as a Hall County Commissioner; he also served eight years as a member of the Clermont Town Council.
Lula Mayor Milton Turner told Gailey he had his endorsement for the post.
