BRASELTON - Then-President Reagan signed a proclamation in 1984 declaring “July is National Ice Cream Month,” and Braselton recently celebrates the occasion with its famed Mayfield Dairy.

Town officials visited Mayfield Dairy to celebrate the month and thank the company for its investments and civic pride in Braselton since it opened there in 1997.  Hundreds of hungry patrons streamed through the doors of the visitor’s center to sustain the celebration.

Ten percent of the nation’s milk is churned into nutritious and wholesome ice cream, according to the International Dairy Foods Association.

“Mayfield is an integral part of our business community,” says Mayor Bill Orr, “and we salute their being such an asset to the town and region.”
