GAINESVILLE — A Gainesville man who served the poultry industry at the local and state levels for many years has died.
Nat Ashe, who was 86, died Monday at Morningside Assisted Living.
Ashe was the founder of Blue Ridge Grain and Marketing Inc. Prior to forming his own company, he had served in management of two poultry companies since 1952. Ashe also served as State Vice-President of the Southeastern Poultry and Egg Federation, Charter President of Georgia Feed Council, Chairman of the Georgia Poultry Park Committee, and was a Life Member of the Poultry Leaders Round Table.
He was also a Trustee of the Gainesville Midland Railroad,Charter President of the Gainesville Swim Association and former Chairman of the Gainesville College (now University of North Georgia/Gainesville) Foundation.
The funeral will be at 11:00 Wedneday in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville.
