GAINESVILLE — Jackson Bishop shot his way to the 2015 City Championship on Sunday at Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville.
Following a one-hour weather delay, Bishop fired a final round 2-under-par 70 to become the 2015 City Champion. Bishop's 54-hole total was 211, (5-under-par). Lawson King finished in second place at 215 (1-under), four shots behind Bishop. 2014 champion Morgan Nix climbed up the leaderboard into third place after a tournament low final round score of 67, finishing with a 218. Past Champion Will Peeples also finished fourth at 225.
The championship B flight was decided by a sudden death playoff. John Jacobs and Brad Prestridge finished the tournament tied at 238. Jacobs won with a par on the first playoff hole. Ryan Hogan was third after a score card playoff with Davis Weaver. Both Hogan and Weaver finished at 241.
Jason Chester was the championship flight net winner with a 54-hole total of 218.
Jeff Sanford posted a second round 78 (157) to win the first flight by three shots over Joe Carter (160). Bill Shrader finished third by a score card playoff over John Payne (162).
In the second flight, Scott Head shot 80 (163) to overcome a one-shot deficit to Chuck Whitmire, 165. Doug Glidden captured third place with 168.
Jeff Stowe was the third flight winner after a second round 82 (161) followed by Ed Waller in second with 173.
John Wright won the third flight net division with a 4-under total of 140, followed by Rick Reed at 142.
