CLARKESVILLE - Habersham County officials said the county will officially have a new Director of Parks and Recreation early next month.
In a Friday news release, Habersham County Manager Phil Sutton said Kurt Cooper accepted the position.
"We look forward to Kurt joining Habersham County on August 3 and are confident that he will bring new vigor and direction to our parks and recreation department," Sutton wrote.
Cooper comes most recently from Barrow County where he has served as director of the county's park and rec. department for the last six years.
Cooper replaces Fenton Morris who took the top park and rec. job in the city of Jefferson.
