CUMMING - Organizers are planning a candlelight vigil and memorial service this weekend in honor of the Forsyth County employee killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Dawson County this week.

Dawson County authorities believe 28-year-old Erin Niccole Jones was shot and killed by her boyfriend, 43-year-old David Geyer II, in the home the couple shared on Maple Hill Drive in Dawsonville.  Geyer then took his own life, according to investigators.  The incident happened Wednesday afternoon.

Jones served as a Forsyth County 911 Center Shift Supervisor.

The vigil and service is planned Sunday at 8:00 p.m., according to the county.  It will take place at the track field at North Forsyth High School, located 3635 Coal Mountain Drive, Cumming, GA 30028.

Organizers encouraged attendees to wear green, Jones' favorite color.

"Our hearts go out to Erin's family as well as our dispatch family.  Our dispatchers are our lifelines. Erin watched over our night shift deputies and we know she continues to watch over all of us still," a post on the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Facebook page reads.
'This thin Gold line represents those who are rarely seen but mostly heard. The calm voice in the dark. The Golden glue that holds it all together. You may see this image across social media pages this week in honor of Erin Jones, the Forsyth County dispatcher who lost her life this week,' a Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Facebook post reads.
