BUFORD — Former Buford High standout pitcher Connor Bennett signed with the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. Bennett was drafted in 34th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by Cincinnati.
No terms of the deal were known.
Bennett posted a 7-0 record, with seven saves in 2015 to help lead the Wolves to the Class AAAA state title. Bennett had 107 Ks in 55 1/3 innings pitched and a 0.67 ERA.
Connor was selected as the 2015 Gwinnett County Pitcher of the Year by the Gwinnett Dugout Club and was first team All Region 8-AAAA.
