GAINESVILLE — Today marks the beginning of the new fiscal year for the city of Gainesville, and with it comes a name change for the Public Utilities Department.
City spokeswoman Catiel Felts says the department is now kown as the Department of Water Resources.
"The main reason for the change," Felts said, "is that Public Utilities will now oversee storm water in addition to water and wastewater."
