GAINESVILLE  —   Gainesville Connection, the city's fixed-route public transit system, is on target to roll out a new marketing campaign July 1.

Called "Gainesville Connects," it will include riders of different ages and backgrounds, Phillippa Lewis Moss, Director of the Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center said Wednesday afternoon.  The agency operates the bus system.

"I can tell you that the ads panels will feature senior citizens, college students, shoppers, veterans, workers, young kids and persons with disabilities," Moss said, adding that ad panels attached to bus stop shelters will be fitted with solar lights sometime in Augustin order to make the ads visible around-the-clock.

July 1 is also the date Gainesville Connection is planning minor changes to its routes and fares.
