SUGAR HILL—Lanier High School in Sugar Hill is hosting the STEM Maker Fest to promote science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) on Saturday.
A release from the school system said the "family friendly event is a celebration of creativity, ingenuity, innovation, and entrepreneurship."
Students as well as adults will get a chance to present ideas and interactive activites to demonstrate the STEM principles.
Officials said the event was modeled after the Maker Faire, an event that began in California a decade ago that's billed as the "Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth."
The event is sponsored by the Lanier High School Center for Design and Technology as well as the various schools in the Lanier Cluster.
It runs from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
