Overloaded circuit may have caused South Hall fire

Posted 7:16AM on Saturday 9th May 2015 ( 8 years ago )
FLOWERY BRANCH - Hall County officials said a fire that destroyed a south Hall County mobile home appears to have been caused by an overloaded electrical circuit.

Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said the lone occupant of the home on Cash Road escaped without injury from the Friday evening fire.  The single-wide home was located near Remington Drive.

"He noticed the fire by the smell of smoke and located the fire before exiting and calling 911," Cagle said in an email.

While the home was a total loss, fire officials said the resident didn't need American Red Cross assistance.

Cagle said the suspect electrical circuit had several extension cords and multi-plug adapters.

The dollar loss estimate was unavailable Friday night.
