HARTWELL - Thanks to the quick response of state troopers from Hartwell, a Lawrenceville man is in the Hart County Jail awaiting extradition to Virginia.
Horacio Boyzo, 24, is charged by Fairfax County, Va., police with felony abduction.
Cpl. Matt Baxley of Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell said he was contacted around 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, by investigators from the Fairfax County, Va., police department regarding a reported abduction.
"They had information that the 20-year-old female and her abductor were at Dad's Restaurant on Georgia 77 at Interstate 85," Baxley said. "Myself and two other troopers responded and located the two standing outside."
Following on-scene interviews and with information from investigators, "we determined that she was indeed abducted," Baxley said.
Baxley said Fairfax County police obtained the felony abduction warrant against Boyzo.
The female was recovered safely and has been reunited with her family.
