EASTABOGA, Ala. - Randy Weaver continued his winning ways Saturday night, as he scored the win and the $4,000 pay day in the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series event at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala.
Weaver jumped into the lead at the drop of the green flag as he pulled ahead of outside pole sitter Riley Hickman, with Todd Morrow falling into the third spot. Weaver then started to pull away from the field early and then began working his way through lapped traffic.
Meanwhile, behind Weaver, the battle for the second spot saw Hickman, Morrow and Ronnie Johnson who fighting for the second spot lap after lap. As the lap wound down, Adam Martin moved into the fight.
When the checkered flag flew, it was Weaver claiming his 40th series victory. Hickman crossed the line in second, with Johnson in third, Morrow in fourth and Martin in fifth.
Brandon Kinzer, Grant Pearl, Jason Hiett, Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. and Chris Wilson rounded out the top ten.
The next Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series event will be on Saturday night, May 23at the Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN.
