CLEVELAND - Cleveland Police Department is operating from its new office location at 133 W. Kytle St.

On Friday the department held an open house to give the public an opportunity to stop in and check out the facility.

Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said the new location gives officers additional work area they need.

"The city, the council, they've seen the need for us to have additional room for our investigations, so we can operate properly," Foster said. "We've got plenty of room, it's more customer service-friendly and we invite people to just drop in and see us and let us show you the facility."

Prior to the move, Cleveland P.D. operated jointly from upstairs offices at city hall and a substation located on the square.

Foster said that substation since has closed and all operation is at the West Kytle Street location.

The city council has long-term plans to use the police substation location on the square to provide some public restrooms.
