GAINESVILLE - The new Atlanta Botanical Garden, Gainesville, will kick off a series of "Concerts in the Garden" June 13 with a performance by Emmylou Harris.
Harris, joined by Rodney Crowel, is among three acts planned at the new Gainesville garden, which opens May 2. Others are The Temptations on July 11 and Scott McCreery on July 17 – all presented in the new amphitheater named in honor of longtime Garden supporters Doug and Kay Ivester.
The three shows are part of the 13th annual Concerts in the Garden, the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s series presented each summer under the stars.
In Atlanta, the lineup will feature seven acts on the Midtown garden’s Great Lawn:
- Saturday, June 20: Josh Turner
- Thursday, July 23: Smashmouth, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tonic
- Friday, July 24: The Beach Boys
- Friday, August 7: Colbie Caillat
- Friday, August 21: Taj Mahal & John Hiatt
- Saturday, August 22: Melissa Etheridge this is M.E. Solo
- Friday, August 28: The Mavericks & Los Lobos
