DAWSONVILLE - The Georgia State Patrol has released the identity of the motorcycle operator who was killed in Dawson County Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers said 32-year-old William Christopher Pittman of Dawsonville was killed when he passed multiple vehicles on Highway 53 near Holcomb Road and hit the side of a dump truck that was attempting to turn in to a private driveway.
The GSP said Pittman crossed a double yellow center line; he was killed on impact.
The driver of the truck, Ronald Paul Bearden, 69, of Dawsonville, was not injured.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m.
