Baseball: Vikings push win streak to 8 with rout of Banks County

HOMER -- East Hall ran its win streak to eight games with an 8-0 rout of Banks County Tuesday in Region 7-AAA action.

The Vikings (10-8, 8-4 Region 7-AAA) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning taking advantage of two Banks County errors to go with one hit. The blew the game open with four runs in the sixth on a pair of RBI singles by Jonah Crocker and Hunter Strange, and a two-run single by Cole Smith. Smith had three hits and three RBI for East Hall.

Eli Stuart scattered five hits and fanned five in a complete-game effort to get the win on the mound for the Vikings.

East Hall will travel to Rabun County on Wednesday in a non-region battle.

Banks County (5-12, 2-9) will play host to West Hall on Wednesday in another key 7-AAA contest.
