GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville Police Department will be hosting an interactive firearms safety course on April 18 from 9:00-5:00. Students will attend a classroom portion of the course then conduct “live fire” on the range. This course is free and open to the public.
This interactive firearms safety course is a “hands on” safety course that will teach participants about safe handgun operations. Students will learn rules for safe weapon handling, cycle of operation, ammunition selection, shooting fundamentals, and shooting positions. Also, there will be discussion on current Georgia Gun Carry Laws.
Participants will be required to undergo a background check, have a valid government ID, and sign a release and indemnity waiver.
