GAINESVILLE - The Office Depot store in Gainesville will close next month, eliminating an undisclosed number of jobs.
Corporate spokeswoman Julianne Embry confirmed via email that the store will close May 16.
Embry would not say how many employees will be affected, only that those who are eligible will receive severance packages and benefits and would possible be offered a chance to stay with the company at other locations.
The Gainesville Office Depot store is located on Browns Bridge Road.
Office Depot and Office Max merged in November 2013, and there is an Office Max store on Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville. That store will remain open, according to Embry.
