CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The corporate offices of Belk have confirmed that the investment firm of Goldman Sachs has been hired evaluate the future of the company, perhaps the possible sale of the corporation.
Belk, which is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, issued a statement saying it needs to look at a business plan that will provide a better return for company stockholders.
Belk has 45 stores in Georgia, including stores in Gainesville, Cumming, Cornelia and Buford, in the north Georgia area.
