2,400-acre controlled burn planned Sun. in Lumpkin, Fannin counties

GAINESVILLE - A controlled burn, conducted by the U.S. Forest Service Sunday, will result in the closure of two roads in the Chattahoochee National Forest.

The burn is planned at Puncheon Gap Lumpkin and Fannin counties. It will involve about 2,400 acres and and will require the temporary closure of a section pf Forest Service Road (FSR) 42 and FSR 141. The roads will be closed beginning at 10:00 Sunday morning and remain closed until about 4:00 Sunday afternoon.

No trail closures are planned.
