One week ago, Trey Gibson saw a solid top three finish in two 50 lap Late Model Stock features tossed out in post-race tech at Greenville Pickens Speedway.

Saturday night, Gibson made up for that by driving into victory lane at the legendary Easley, SC half mile.

"It has been a rough stretch for me," Gibson said. "It's been over a year since I've won a race. I didn't win at all last year, so to come back tonight and take the win, it really means a lot."

Former champion David Roberts came home in second, with Dylan Hall in third in his first outing at GPS. Marty Ward took fourth, with Kenneth Headen, in fifth.

Bob Root, Blair Addis, Tasha Kummer, Andrew Cordell and Kate Dallenbach rounded out the top ten.

In other action, veteran driver Tim Sams had a 'family run-in' on his way to victory in the Super Renegade feature. He and his son, Josh Sams, had a racing accident in turn three on the opening lap. While the father took the win, the son wound up last.

"I have to go tell Josh I'm sorry, but I figure he will get over it pretty quickly," Sams said. "I spend a lot of time working on his racer, too. I enjoyed tonight's race, and that makes two straight for me."

Tim Crowe finished second, with Ricky Stephens in third. Phillip Peters, Terry Johnson and Josh Sams rounded out the top five.

Brad Burns was the winner in the Renegade division after working his way up through the field to grab the lead and the victory. Parker Jameson was second, with Blake Gregory third, Bobby Emory fourth and Daniel Jameson fifth.

Veteran driver Buck Simmons made it two straight wins in the combined event for Pure Stocks and Street Stock division, with Jason McGrew, John Cordell, Jamie McCall and A.J. Davis rounding out the top five.

Michael Cross took the 4-Cylinder Front Wheel Drive feature win over Tommy Davis, Jr. after the two had battled side-by-side for eleven of the 15 laps that made up the feature. Davis had some problems in the tech shed following the race, and was reverted to the rear of the field. Don Tavernia was credited with second, with Travis Shelton third, Chad Tavernia fourth and Casey Burkett fifth.

Greenville Pickens Speedway returns to action with a rare Friday night show, on March 20, featuring a 100 late Late Model Stock race on the top of the bill. For more information, visit GreenvillePickens.com.
