Students awarded for good citizenship by local DAR chapter

GAINESVILLE - The Col. William Candler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated students and community members at their annual awards tea Thursday.

Awards were presented to fifth, eighth and twelfth grade students who showed exemplary citizenship through artwork, essays and more.

DAR Good Citizens awards were presented to the following high school seniors:

*Grayze Anne Sepe - East Hall High
*Kyle Peterman - Flowery Branch High
*Thinh Nguyen - Gainesville High
*Dulce Maria Aguilar - Johnson High
*Robert Lipold - Lakeview Academy
*Emily Barnes - North Hall High
*Samantha Alverson - West Hall High

The DAR Youth Citizen Award was presented to the following eighth grade students:

*Emily Masters - C.W. Davis Middle
*Nicole Sedwick - Chestatee Academy
*Oriah Talest Ware - Da Vinci Academy
*Ivey Shadburn - East Hall Middle
*Morgan Leighann Nichol - Gainesville Middle
*Reese Myers - Lakeview Academy
*Parker Shope - Maranatha Christian Academy
*Andrew Harmon - North Georgia Christian
*Emily Britt - North Hall Middle
*Avery Arlene Marie Owen - South Hall Middle
*Kaylie Dover - West Hall Middle

The Junior American Citizen Award was presented to the following fifth graders from Enota Elementary:

*Amanda Mullin
*Gabriel Vasquez
*Tiffhany Hernandez
*Prudence Matthews

Amanda Mullin was also presented with the American History Essay Award.

Additionally, Ronda Sanders was awarded the Outstanding Librarian Award, and Maxine Trapnell and Curtis Segars were awarded with the Community Service Award.

Outstanding Librarian: Ronda Sanders
