DAHLONEGA -- Senior Andrew Gordon collected six RBI with a grand slam home run and a two-run blast to help the No. 29 University of North Georgia baseball team take down Georgia College, Friday evening at Bob Stein Stadium.

The Nighthawks extend their win streak to nine with the victory and are now 11-4 on the year with a 7-0 mark on top of the Peach Belt Conference.

After falling behind by a run in the top of the second inning, Sam Tidaback ripped a RBI double to left center to even the game at 1-1.

Gordon made sure UNG didn't waste a base loaded no-out situation, blasting a grand slam over the left field wall to put the Nighthawks up 5-1. The Bobcats scored one in the top of the sixth only to be bested by a two-run homer by Tremayne Toorie in the bottom frame of the inning.

The Bobcats got a rally going in the eighth scoring two runs but once again North Georgia answered when Gordon sent a two-run shot over the left field wall to give the game its final score, 9-4.

Brandon Agar (3-2) picked up the win tossing 6.0 innings with six strikeouts although he did allow two earned runs on six hits.

Taylor Keinat earned his first save of the season, pitching the final 3.0 innings of effective relief.

The Nighthawks will look to take the series tomorrow with a doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m. The first 200 fans through the gates will receive a free North Georgia baseball rally towel.
